 • supports 40 participants in two cohorts (July 2007 - June 2009; June 2008 - May 2010)

• focuses on moderate-resolution, readily available federal land remote sensing data

• addresses workforce needs in forestry, agriculture, disaster management, natural resources management, and urban planning

• attend two Summer Institutes for a total of three weeks

• complete a full-semester on-line remote sensing course

• develop a Learning Unit that integrates geospatial technologies

• implement recruiting and community outreach activities that support geospatial education and workforce training at their institutions
